Oh isn't she a pistol

My daughter is so full of life, happy to be in school. It's just gotten infectious that why i'm also happy and involved. Although she is still a 4 yr old trying to find her boldness and creativity, we do bump heads. But threw the little spats which I try to figure out her side and yet, keep my ground as a parent and let her know who is in charge. Education keep us tight, I can bring out a work book and she is ready to learn. It's a great feeling. I want to keep that spirit about school very high. Hopefully throughout my process of learning more about the school district, it will make me more aware and understanding of my child's development in school.

School responsibilities for a Kinder garter mom

My daughter started K this week. I'm very excited for her to be learning new things. She herself is very excited about learning, her eyes are wide, her mouth is outspoken, her brain in high learning gear! To me it's one of the greatest feelings to be learning. I wonder what it feels like to her. School was very interesting to me during that time and it was nothing I didn't want to do or learn.

Looking at the budget problem

The budget crisis in my city has got me to wondering. Especially since we don't have all the things for our kids in the school like buses, after school programs, and other! I've been looking at websites and trying to see what exactly is going on but it still seems a mystery to me so I have to, dig further and find out what I can.

So lets start to take a look at some things.

Getting involved, so that she has a chance

As far as things seems today, the education system is worst. The government is really not caring what ultimate situation it is placing our kids in today. I'm finding this all a bit overwhelming and inconclusive. So being the mother that I am, trying to know the world around me and my daughters. I have decided to take on a task. I want to know where our funds are going in the VCUSD.

Vallejo's School District is in a Budget crisis. Where did it come from? Why are a kids with out transportation to the school? Where are our programs and what is being done to make things better. I know I'm new to this whole idea, but I'm going to see what I can find out and what can be done.

I think it is important for our children to have a above adequate education. And if I'm a parent that is involved and caring about my community then, there are others. Something needs to be done about our decline in knowledge and the lack of help and support our children get.

Because what we are all seeming to forget is that know matter how you allocate the funds to look like your doing something. The children are our future and will always be, there is no way around it. When you take from them you take from your future and your children's, children's, children's. And how does the future look there
